It is often said that past performance is the best
predictor of future success. The
success of the Kids Connection playground in
Franksville
is
convincing evidence that a community-built playground
in Racine can happen.

Led by general coordinator Juliet Edmands, the Kids
Connection playground was completed in October 2000.
This beautiful, creative playground is enjoyed by
thousands of families each year. With the
help of the Leathers
and Associates design team, over 2000 volunteers
spent eight days constructing the 20,000 square-foot
playground. The playground's current popularity
is a testament to the vision of those who dreamed it
might be possible
and to the collaborative efforts of an entire community
to make it happen.

Because it was such a great experience, a number
of volunteers for Kids Connection have already signed
up to help with the North Beach playground.
