Entries from hundreds of elementary children were received in the naming contest to name the new playground. The naming committee created a short list of names to present to the Parks & Recreation committee on October 14 and the City Council on October 21. The official name of the playground is:

Kids Cove

The grand prize winners and families were picked up in a limousine, treated to their favorite Happy Meal at McDonalds, and escorted to the new playground for the grand opening ceremonies on October 26. The naming contest winners were also the first people to enter the new playground! (see photos..)

The first runner-up will be able to create their own tile for the playground at Fired Up! and the second runner-up will have their name engraved on a baluster at the playground.
